What is EvidenceCanvas?
A controlled evidence-organisation and case-preparation workspace. It keeps files, instructions, working drafts, feedback and released work together within a matter.
Who is the founding pilot for?
Suitable independent family-case practitioners, McKenzie friends, freelance paralegals, small specialist practices and referred litigants working on private family matters in England and Wales.
Is EvidenceCanvas a law firm?
No. EvidenceCanvas is not a firm of solicitors, is not regulated by the SRA and does not provide legal advice or representation.
Will it tell me what I should do?
No. Decisions about your position, prospects, evidence and what you should do require legal advice. EvidenceCanvas supports organisation and preparation.
Will EvidenceCanvas file or serve documents?
No. It does not sign, file or serve court documents and does not conduct litigation.
Can another user see my matter?
Access is assigned by user and matter. The service must pass final public cross-matter access testing before real matters are admitted. The Security page describes the controls and limits.
Is the portal a shared AI or operator chat?
No. The portal has its own controlled case thread with submitted instructions, released responses and feedback. It does not expose a raw private operator transcript.
Is AI used?
Automated model processing is not included in the launch service while provider authorisation, privacy and professional-review requirements remain open. If AI is later activated, the applicable disclosure and human-review information will be updated before use.
Are drafts sent automatically?
No. Internal work remains private until the assigned release owner performs the agreed check and releases it to a named user.
What does “reviewed” mean here?
It means an assigned human has completed the agreed administrative release check. It does not by itself mean review by a solicitor, legal advice or certification of legal correctness. The engagement must identify the reviewer’s role and professional status. Any legal interpretation or guidance requires the separately approved qualified-review route.
Can I put documents in the website form?
No. Public forms are for general contact and suitability only. Do not include names, allegations, case numbers or files. Matter material is accepted only in an assigned workspace after onboarding and after the live-data gates are complete.
Does EvidenceCanvas guarantee court acceptance or an outcome?
No. Case-specific directions and current rules prevail, and only the court decides what it accepts. No result is guaranteed.
Which jurisdictions are supported?
The founding pilot is limited to suitable private family matters in England and Wales. The global domain does not imply global legal coverage.
What does it cost?
The founding pilot is planned as a written, limited scope with a total price agreed before onboarding. No price is public until infrastructure, review, support, VAT and cancellation economics are approved.
What if my hearing or safety issue is urgent?
EvidenceCanvas is not an emergency or continuously monitored service. Do not wait for it where there is imminent danger or a deadline. Call 999 for immediate danger and seek regulated legal advice for urgent case-specific help.
How do corrections work?
A named user can provide linked feedback on released work. The correction route does not silently rewrite the original instruction or evidence record.
